A personal look into Jeff's life.

In the spring of 1994 at the young age of 28, I was introduced to what was then called "Portside Marina". It was by all accounts a marina that needed allot of work to regain back it's clients base and bring back up to a level that customers come to expect on Georgian Bay. Armed with energy and optimism, I blindly set out to turn this little marina around and call Parry Sound and Georgian Bay my home. Now twenty years later, Georgian Bay Marina has a full summer and winter customer base, new docks, new forklift, building and property improvements and diversified services to both cottagers and visitors to the Parry Sound / Georgian Bay area, things could not be better!

I have had the privilege and opportunity to travel to some pretty amazing places to play on the water. From Baffin Island to the Caribbean to most recently the Antarctic, I always find myself drawn to water.

Sailing is my personal passion and my time down in the Caribbean in 1999 - 2000 delivering a 44' sailboat 250 Nm up the Windward Islands still remains one of my most memorable life experiences. The last 10 years I have been racing all over North America, (Eastern sea board) competitively in a dingy class called the Albacore with success.

In 2011/2012 I was contracted by G Adventures to spend 8 weeks down aboard the MS Expedition in Antarctica. I am often asked to describe my experience there and in all honesty it is one of those experiences that is very difficult to put into words. Even the many amazing pictures I came home with still do not capture the feeling, the colors or the personal experience I was fortunate to live. You truly are in a different world/time zone down there, planting my feet back into reality upon my return home took almost 5 weeks. I do plan to return to the MS Expedition should the opportunity present it self.

Currently Commodore of the Canadian Albacore Association, I also sit on the Board of Directors for Ontario Sailing. In the past I have coached hockey for Orillia AAA, local Parry Sound All-Star and St. Peters School hockey team. 

Prior to the purchase of Georgian Bay Marina I was a district Sales Manager for Yamaha Motor Canada Ltd. And traveled Northern Ontario and Baffin Island assisting dealers in marine sales and service.
